Director of Residential Services

Target Start Date: Summer 2026

Sierra Salem Christian Homes (SSCH) is a Christ-centered residential ministry serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Director of Residential Services to provide leadership, oversight, and care for our residential program as we prepare for a planned transition in Summer 2026.

The ideal candidate is a committed Christian with experience in disability services, strong leadership skills, and a desire to serve Christ by supporting our residents, staff, and homes in a Gospel-centered environment. The candidate will be required to adhere to SSCH’s statement of faith.

  • SSCH is a nonprofit, Christian ministry located in Modesto, CA.  Our mission is to provide loving, stable, Christ-centered homes for adults with intellectual disabilities—ensuring that each resident is seen, valued, and supported as a person created in the image of God.

  • The Director of Residential Services (DRS) oversees the day-to-day operations of our residential homes, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, supervises residential staff, and works closely with families, regional center partners, and our Board of Directors.

    This is a key ministry leadership role, combining professional excellence with oversight and Christlike compassion.

    • Provide leadership and oversight to all residential homes within SSCH

    • Ensure full compliance with ICF/DD regulations, licensing requirements, and VMRC/Medi-Cal processes

    • Supervise and support Facility Managers/Administrators, and residential staff

    • Implement staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance development

    • Partner with families, consultants, medical providers, and regional center representatives

    • Maintain accurate documentation, billing review, and regulatory reporting

    • Cultivate a Christ-centered culture of care rooted in a Christian worldview

    • Participate in ministry planning, budgeting, and strategic development

    • Serve as a representative of SSCH in community

  • Required:

    • A mature Christian faith and alignment with SSCH’s mission

    • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, disability studies, or related field

    • 4–10 years of experience in ID/DD residential services (ICF/DD preferred)

    • Knowledge of Medi-Cal/VMRC billing, licensing, compliance, and audits

    • Strong leadership, communication, and HR management skills

    • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and guide multiple residential teams

    • QIDP certification

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree in a related field

    • Experience supervising multiple homes or complex care environments
